Zydeck December Lifelong Rowing Blog #6   Stuff Happens   Decades ago, Lincoln Park Boat Club was rowing from an abandoned warehouse that the owners had granted us permission to store and launch boats near North Avenue.    Since it was our only access to the Chicago River vs. the Lagoon we were quite pleased (noting that there were no bathrooms, showers or shelter).    The water was calm when we launched, but after a brief row the weather shifted, the wind sped up, the skies darkened and the rain became heavy and pretty soon we were unable to row safely.      The river at that point is surrounded by tall metal unscalable walls with only a scatte...
